Twenty-four million Americans may have the human papillomavirus (HPV), yet more than 76 percent of women in the United States have never heard of this sexually transmitted virus which causes virtually 100 percent of all cervical cancers.
Helen serves as the Cancer Coalition Coordinator for Sussex County.
Helen has over 32 years of nursing experience, 26 of which was hospital based Maternal Child Health. She has been a certified Pediatric Nurse through the ANCC since 1998. After working with County and Local Health Departments, on a per-diem level for 15 years, she joined the Sussex County Public Health Nursing Team in 2001 and was promoted to Senior Public Health Nurse in 2006. Helen has been active with the Sussex County NJ CEED (Cancer Education and Early Detection) and Cancer Coalition through Saint Clare's Hospital and recently joined the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Team as the LINCS Public Health Nurse.
She is a member of New Jersey State Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, Mu Theta-at-Large Chapter Nursing Honor Society, and the Greater Passaic Valley Public Health Nursing Association.
